I love to do both virtual and in-person events. I offer a variety of presentations, including reading from Best Friends Playbook, question and answer sessions, and various writing workshops. Feel free to request something other than what I offer here.

Best Friends Playbook Author Visit and Book Signing
Get to know author A.W. Downer in a short session followed by book signing. Mrs. Downer will introduce herself, share her inspiration, read a chapter from Best Friends Playbook, and answer questions.
Creating Dynamic Characters,
1 hour
In this workshop, we’ll use a character questionnaire to get to know our characters. Once we know our characters better, we’ll be able to answer the most important question: what does our character want the most?
Story Workshop, 1 hour
Learn about the seven basic parts of most stories. Using examples, we’ll see how these parts work together. Then, participants will use the seven parts to create their own stories. We’ll also learn how conflict drives stories.
Story Workshop, 1/2 day
Incorporating the elements of shorter workshops, participants will create a character, describe a setting, and invent a plot. Then, as time allows, participants will begin writing their stories. Sharing within small groups is encouraged.
